19 April 2018Tour de Yorkshire
The Tour de Yorkshire is briefly going through East Ayton again!! On Saturday 5 May 2018, riders will approach East Ayton via the A170 from West Ayton then turn up into Castlegate in order to travel the forestry roads toward Silpho on their way to Scarborough; the tour will be going through Snainton between 3:15pm and 4:30pm so they will be coming through East Ayton after then.
The Parish Council will be decorating participating homes along Castlegate and a couple on Main Street (up to Castlegate) so if you wish to see the race, ensure you are lining the route from the Bridge to the entry into Forge Valley.
The 3rd stage will start at Richmond and end in Scarborough though at present timings for coming through the Village are unknown - as soon as the time is known, it will be posted here.

Earlier this year (20 February) the Parish Council were informed by East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) that the No8 bus service would not cease, despite local rumours to the contrary .....
After hearing further conflicting rumour, EYMS have been contacted again and it is with great sadness that we have received an update to say that despite a positive response to our first query (February 2018), circumstances have now changed and the Service WILL be stopping on 14 April 2018.

03 March 2018Burst Water Main YO13 area - UPDATE
Please be advised that the water has been off since approximately 2am due to a burst water main somewhere in the YO13 area - it was reported by North Yorkshire Police to Yorkshire Water at that time.
Yorkshire Water HAVE fixed the leak but are only allowing the pressure to build up slowly to ensure that water doesn't burst pipes anywhere else. Please be advised that once the water does come back on, it may be coloured, so taps will need to be run for a while to ensure it's clear.
Yorkshire Water are also on Twitter (Yorkshire Water Help) and Yorkshire Water were last spoken with by me (Tricia) at approximately 08:23
UPDATE - your water should be back on now in East Ayton, if it is not, please contact Yorkshire Water for further assistance, thank you
28 February 2018Brown Bin (Garden) Collection
Please be advised that the brown bin collection will now begin from 16 March 2018 and not 2 March as originally planned - this is due to adverse weather conditions.
This will not affect your license as due to a week's delayed start, the Borough Council will ensure that the collection service is extended for one week.
27 February 2018Update on No8 Bus Service
The Parish Council have been told today that the No8 Bus Service IS to stop in the near future.
Wording received as follows:
"Service 8 - This service is being withdrawn because of low number of passengers - the average number using it is six".
As soon as further information is received, it will be posted on this website and notice board near PJ Hair Design.
As you can all imagine, this is a very disappointing development
20 February 2018No 8 Bus Service
Cllr Woolley raised concerns over rumours of the cancellation of the no 8 bus - for obvious reasons, this would have a devastating effect on the Village! For whatever reason, these rumours are still continuing to be spread - the Parish Council need your help to stop these rumours.
Our Clerk, Dawn, has contacted East Yorkshire Motor Services and has been reassured that there are no current plans to change the No 8 service.
Please let as many bus users know that it's "business as usual" and if support of the service increases, it will all help to keep it in place!
EYMS have stated that they will let the Parish Council know if there are to be any changes to their routes and should information be received by the Parish Council it will be placed on the Parish Notice Board (near PJ Hair Design) as well as on our website. Thank you.
