Rural Crime Volunteers sought
Northumbria Police are currently looking to recruit additional Rural Crime Volunteers (RCV's) in the North Northumberland area.
What is a Rural Crime Volunteer?
A Rural Crime Volunteer contributes by being ‘eyes and ears’, which means reporting what they see and hear to a high evidential standard, driving the all-important ‘intelligence-led’ system. These volunteers exist to support Northumbria police in protecting Rural Communities from both acquisitive Crime and Wildlife Crime and the associated problems linked to both offending types.
Day to day, your role will involve going about your daily business and reporting suspicious activity to Northumbria Police using the agreed reporting methods (training will be provided).
As ‘eyes and ears’ only, you have NO powers whatsoever, to approach suspects, stop vehicles or demand personal details.
