16 November 2016Domestic Violence - how you can help
Vera Baird, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumberland, has made the reduction of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls a priority. In order to acvhieve this she has developed a Northumbria-wide network of domestic violence champions. These are people who have received training in order to enable them to raise awareness of domestic violence within their workplace or community and to direct those who are experiencing this to specialist services which can offer help.
She wants to extend this to rural areas like ours. Do you think you could be a Rural Champion?
