research gray
I am researching the GRAY family in Pegswood. I am looking for any information to link my family to forfathers of George Gray of Pegswood, born 1826, then went onto to marry Margaret from Blaydon, they had a son George, born 1858 in Blaydon , then they moved to Seaton , then by 1868 were living in West Rainton Durham. I would greatly appreciate any info or photos connections to the above info, thanking anyone in advance feel free to email me, xx thanks gillian

skate park
hi I live in Pegswood, me and my friends love skateboarding but everytime we find somewhere to skate we get the police on us or get shouted at and told to move, and I think it's unfair how Morpeth and Ashington have a skatepark but we dont,so could you please at least think about building a skate park in pegswood

Thanks

With reference to nicks request for a skate board park.
Why don’t you and your friends gather a list of names of people who would use the skate board area, and send it to the police and parish council? Include with the list a letter describing what you need. Sometimes you can claim grants from the police and lottery to help towards equipment.
Good luck Nick.
Pegswood needs something for the kids,
I have lived there for 47 years.

I'd like to thank you both for putting your request and reply here. It gives us faith that the people of the village do read this site. The Parish Council has already received a request with a list of names of young people who would like this facility. The Parish Council will be providing a skate park as a trial in the summer of 2010 for 1 - 2 weeks to ascertain what the requirement will be. We are also in the process of applying for various funding through grants to build some permanent features at the Welfare Park to try to coincide with the new Pavilion that is about to be built. We wish to make features for all ages between 1 and 18 as has been done in other areas.
STATUE
I hope Jim Burley will consult on the need for some community art in Pegswood. Something by Stephen Lunn would be great.

Pegswood Play Areas
Attention all Pegswood Residents, your Parish Council is seeking to have the Play Equipment removed from Brocksburn Park and also possibly Patton Way to avoid them placing an "unwelcome burden" on Parish Council finances. If allowed to go ahead there will be no Playparks left for small children in Pegswood. Please contact your local councillor and object to these moves and petition them to think creatively about how these play areas could be developed further rather than lost forever.
