Monday 4th October saw the annual Harvest Supper being held at the village hall.
This was a very well attended event with a fine supper being served after grace was said by the reverend Sharon Walker
The meal was followed by a very amusing homage to the Morecombe & Wise “Strippers” performed by Walton’s church wardens that received much laughter and applause. The entertainment also included a raffle and a rather fiendish quiz which had us all wracking our brains. The layout of the tables in long rows also encouraged the making of new acquaintances and friends.
Alan Marsh, Chairman of the Parish Council, then presented the Parish Council Villagers Award to a very surprised Sandra Gristock to commemorate her Sunday school teaching over the past 30 years.
The finale of the evening was an auction that produced a flurry of bids for a range of wonderful garden produce boxes,
hand made wooden items such as trugs and plant stands and a rather large teddy bear:
Many thanks to those who catered so well for so many, and to all those who helped to host what was a very enjoyable evening.
