DOGS

From your Local PCSO:

The Police wish to remind ALL dog walkers in the village, that when they are walking their dogs through fields, in particular, fields that have a public footpath which runs through them, the owner of that dog must make sure that when livestock is in a field, including sheep and cows, that their dog is on a lead and under proper control. Any dog that is not under control and off its lead and is found to be worrying livestock, runs the risk of their dog being shot, which the owner of that livestock has a legal right to do.

All dog walkers are to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately, in particular, any person seen tampering with electric fencing or damaging this equipment will run the risk of being arrested and charged with Criminal Damage. The local beat team has recently had a report regarding persons damaging or removing electric fencing in the village, in particular near the East Mead Lane area and near to public footpaths.

Any resident who has any information regarding the above is encouraged to make contact with myself on 07825175308, or alternatively contacting the Force Service Centre on 0845 456 7000, or by attending Street Police Station, open Monday to Friday to the public, 8am till 4pm.
