A Big Thank You
to those ten volunteers who turned out last Saturday 22nd February to litter pick around the village. This was a follow up to the litter pick last year ~ both were arranged in response to requests to the Parish Council from residents.
The Parish Council provided health & safety advice and support along with the Hi Viz vests, gloves and pickers etc. and a couple of Councillors turned out too!
The amount of rubbish collected during the 2013 clean up was over thirty bags of litter on the day. This year the total has dropped to fourteen bags ~ hopefully reflecting the effect of last years clean up.
With the help of these volunteers your village is a tidier place today and it was achieved with less than two hours work on their behalf.
To join in and help to keep Walton a nicer to live in keep a look out for details of future Litter Pick Days here on the website or around the village on the noticeboards ~ or if you think the village needs a tidy up contact the Parish council and help organise one,
As can be seen in the picture below even the weather supported the litter pick!
