South Somerset District Council - Application for designation of Castle Cary and Ansford as a Neighbourhood Area
Castle Cary Town and Ansford Parish Councils have applied to South Somerset District Council for the designation of a joint neighbourhood area under The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 as amended. The area proposed covers the whole of the parishes of Castle Cary and Ansford, this is the first step towards preparing a neighbourhood plan*.
A copy of the area application can be viewed on the South Somerset District Council’s web site: www.southsomerset.gov.uk. Copies can also be inspected at the main Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil.
Please note that this is a formal regulatory stage of the designation of the neighbourhood area and not a consultation on the neighbourhood plan itself which will follow in due course. To make a representation on the proposed neighbourhood area please send comments to firstname.lastname@example.org or to Spatial Policy, Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 2HT.
The consultation runs from 12th March 2015 until midnight on 23rd April 2015. All comments received will be made publicly available therefore cannot be treated as confidential.
*A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development, regeneration and conservation of a Parish (or group of parishes). It may contain a vision, aims, planning policies, proposals for improving the area or providing new facilities, or allocation of key sites for specific kinds of development. It can deal with a wide range of social, economic and environmental issues (such as housing, employment, heritage and transport) or it may focus on one or two key local issues only.
