18 July 2019Vacancy for a Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Ansford Parish Council seeks a new Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. This is a part time job equating to 8 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be expected to work from their home. IT equipment and a phone will be provided. (The current budget allows for the purchase of new IT equipment).

There will be a requirement to have a 4 drawer filing cabinet at home as well as 2 storage boxes and other regular use files.

It is preferable for the successful candidate to have had previous experience as a parish clerk though this is not a pre-requisite. SALC training will be arranged if required and there will be a handover period from the departing clerk. Standard clerk work activities will include formal minutes, agendas, accounts and Council correspondence.

The salary will be as per the National recommended pay scale New SCP 11 which equates to £10.97p per hour however the Council will consider a higher grade if the applicants experience warrants it.

The next Ansford Parish Council meeting will take place on the 11th September 2019 commencing at 19:30 at Caryford Hall, Ansford. All parishioners are welcome to attend.

09 July 2019Ansford and Castle Cary Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

Referendum on the adoption of the  Castle Cary and Ansford Neighbourhood Plan 
A referendum will be held on Tuesday, 30 July 2019 to decide the question below:  ‘Do you want South Somerset District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Castle Cary and Ansford to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’  
Applications to register to vote and applications to vote by post or proxy should be made to the Electoral Registration Officer, South Somerset District Council, Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, BA20 2HT based on the following deadlines:  
New applications to register to vote:   Friday 12 July 2019 
New applications to vote by post or cancellation or amendment of existing postal or postal proxy votes:  5 pm on Monday 15 July 2019 
New applications to vote by proxy, or to change/cancel a proxy:  5 pm on Monday 22 July 2019 
Applications for an emergency proxy vote:  5 pm on Tuesday 30 July 2019 

Voting will take place between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Ansford residents should vote in Caryford Hall.

Castle Cary residents should vote in the Market House Shambles.

You will be issued with voting cards by South Somerset District Council and the process is very similar to a General Election, and the same postal and proxy voting rules apply.
