Don't forget to make use of the shop in Arncott. Village shops are dying out as they struggle to compete against the supermarkets. Use it or lose it! There are loads of offers available there and as Tom once said to me, "If you can't find it, ask me and I'll find it. If I haven't got it, I'll get it". Can't say fairer than that!! If you want to contact the shop, then call 01869 388223 and speak to them. Here is their hygiene rating from the Scores on the Doors website in case you were wondering.
18 February 2018Litter pick and Rubbish Removal
Today some of the younger people in the village came together to remove the rubbish that has accumulated in the hedgerows and the bottom area of the playing field over the years. This project was a community lead project. It was not organised by the parish council at all. It was lead by a resident and a good number of our younger villagers. It was a fantastic job and over a tonne of rubbish has been removed to make the area so much better. We intend this to be the beginning of a longer project to improve the facilities in the village. Projects like this help improve our village for everyone and those involved gave their time freely to do this and for that, I think everyone in the village is impressed and we can only give our thanks to them. Once we have the names of those involved, we will put their names up to ensure they receive the proper recognition for a superb job, and a job from which everyone in the village will benefit.
