15 October 2018Cold Ashby Bonfire Night

Cold Ashby Playing Fields Association are putting on a bonfire and fireworks night on Friday 2nd November, doors 6:30p.m. The bonfire will be lit at 7p.m. and fireworks shortly after that. These events are designed to be suitable for families and “children” of all ages.   This is a community event intended for Cold Ashby and the surrounding area so it won’t burn a hole in your pocket.  There will be a bar serving real ale, mulled wine and soft drinks, and a barbeque with meat from Joseph Morris as well as vegetarian options if you are feeling peckish.

This event is organised by CAPFA (the small local charity that runs and maintains the playing field and playground) and is supported this year by DDC.

Bonfire Alert!!!

If you have garden waste or other wood for burning (please, no plastics or other potentially hazardous materials) you can bring it to the playing fields.  Cars can drive around the edge of the field to the bonfire to leave stuff.   BUT, please bring your bonfire materials before Thursday 1st November.

Everybody Needs Good Neighbours!

Hi, My name is Angela and I live in Cold Ashby. I have recently heard about Daventry District Council’s Good Neighbour Scheme and I am interested in finding out more about the possibility of setting one up in Cold Ashby.

To help me do that, I will be attending the above event in Moulton on October 1st.  If you’d also like to go along for all or part of the day, and would like a lift, please let me know on 01604 740703/07799 473656 or email me at angedw.g@gmail.com. The event is free and lunch is provided.

The day will provide an opportunity to meet other groups and organisations; hear the benefits of running a Good Neighbour scheme; listen to first-hand knowledge of existing schemes; and find out more information about the professional support available.  See the programme below for more details about the day’s event.
