Fungi

The Parish Council are aware that the Play Area has had a lot of toadstools this Autumn.

We have checked the varieties we have seen with experts from RoSPA, Environmental Health and The Greenspace and Countryside Team and sought their advice. We are advised that none are of great concern though one type may cause problems if eaten. We are further advised that measures to remove fungi are rarely effective since the organisms are so widespread underground. We ask that Parents and Guardians advise unaccompanied children to avoid the fungi and continue to supervise small children using the play area. None of the fungi should be eaten.

The Great North natural history museum were impressed with the biodiversity we had in such a small space.
