DENFORD VILLAGE HALL
Denford Village Hall situated in Front Street was built in 1940, and since that time has been one of the most important village assets.
In 2014, the hall underwent a major refurbishment which included more effective insulation to the walls and ceiling, making it more efficient in terms of heating.
The kitchen was brought into the 21st century with brand new cookers, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher, as well as a full range of storage cupboards. In addition new toilet facilities were installed including a cubicle for disabled patrons.
The next phase of redevelopment is to enhance a small storage area to become a more effective bar.
The responsibility for this, and the upkeep and general maintenance of the hall falls to a group of dedicated villagers who meet once a month to ensure that it remains fit for purpose
Throughout the past 75 years it has been, and still is, the focal point for many village activities, catering for all age groups.
The hall is used for regular meetings by the Parish Council, the Village Hall Committee and Denford Women's Institute.
Other regular users are the Ballroom Dancing classes, as well as the Yoga and Keep Fit Groups.
Other highlights each calendar year are the various charity events, and of course Denford Thespians who produce a major theatrical production each spring, in addition to their ever popular Review in the autumn.
The hall is also used extensively for social events ranging from birthday parties for any age group, to weddings and anniversary celebrations.
There is an impressive lighting system, and a music system which can add atmosphere to any occasion.
Denford prides itself in being a particularly social place and we are very lucky to have this facility that allows such a wide variety of activities which helps to reinforce the 'Denford ethos'.
The committee encourages as many villagers to make use of the hall as often as they would like.
However, the hall is open to people from outside Denford to use as well, and the committee welcomes anyone who wishes to hire the hall for the very reasonable cost of £7 per hour.
