19 March 2020ALLOTMENTS: CORONAVIRUS
In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the constantly evolving national emergency we are all facing, the Parish Council urges all allotment holders to avoid any unnecessary social contact and gatherings at the allotment site in order to limit the potential exposure in line with the latest government guidance. There will be no plot inspections taking place until further notice and no warning or eviction letters for non-cultivation will be sent out to tenants until this outbreak has past. The Council also faces restrictions over the coming weeks as to what it is capable of doing in terms of maintenance and repairs that might be needed. The Council will try and rectify these issues when it can, but it might be necessary in the meantime for allotment holders to come up with short-term solutions themselves.
18 March 2020CANCELLED: NORTHUMBERLAND DAY FLAG RELAY
Not surprisingly, all events which could lead to a build up of numbers of people, either as participants or spectators, have been cancelled, and this means the Northumberland Day and Flag Relay will not take place.
