Reopening the Playground - Coronavirus

17th July 2020

Fantastic news!

The Rev Cobley Playground has reopened, but the area is not sanitised and there are no facilities in the playground so you must bring hand sanitiser or wipes with you and use them regularly.

Scientific advice suggests that the virus can survive for up to several days on some hard surfaces, particularly when indoors. These risks are reduced when outdoors, where surfaces may be subject to UV light and/or rain. However the virus could survive long enough on frequently used/touched outdoor surfaces to facilitate transmission.

Please sanitise more often than usual, particularly at the beginning and end of play.

We’ve created an entrance gate by the swings and the exit gate by the rockers to minimise the need for close contact with others. We’ve also marked the pathway to help you socially distance if you are queueing or waiting. If it's busy why not come back another time?

You must follow social distancing rules in the playground. The Council is not able to provide facilities such as stewarding and booking, and it is not practical to create a one-way system so you must be careful to socially distance. It would help if only one family member accompanied a child if possible.

Please be considerate of others, especially if they are waiting to use the playground

Don’t eat or drink in the playground and dispose of all your litter in the bins provided.

Follow the guidance on the signs displayed.

Please remember that you use the area at your own risk.
