The Parish Council was notified that an outline planning application was received for up to 380 houses and a primary school and nursery on land in Burtree Lane.

The Parish Council considered the outline planning application at its meeting on the 30th November, 2015 and decided to object to the planning application.  The following reasons for objecting were given in the Parish Council's objections statement which was forwarded to Darlington Borough Council.  

Objection 1.   The proposed development is outslide the development limits for Whessoe Parish.

Objection 2.   The proposed development is contrary to planning guidance.

Objection 3.   Impact on schools.

Objection 4.   Impact on medical services.

Objection 5.   Highways.

Objection 6   Pylons.
