The Cold Ashby Village Hall is a vibrant community hub in the heart of Cold Ashby. Due to the closure of the village pub, the Memorial Hall (Village Hall) is an important place where our community can improve their wellbeing and socialise with friends and neighbours. Now, more than ever we need the support of our community to ensure that the Hall’s future is secured, and we ask that we work together to save our beloved and precious hall and help preserve it not only for now but for future generations.
- Location: Situated on the main road through the village, the hall provides easy access for residents and visitors.
- Capacity: With a capacity for 120 people, it can accommodate gatherings, celebrations, and meetings.
- Facilities:
- Well-Equipped Kitchen: Ideal for preparing refreshments during events.
- Separate Bar: Perfect for social occasions.
- Toilets: Includes facilities for disabled individuals and changing needs.
- Uses:
- Community Groups: The hall hosts various local groups, including skittles teams, the Bowls Club, and church-related activities.
- Emergency Shelter: Designated as an emergency shelter for the community.
- Private Parties: Available for private functions and celebrations.
- Polling Station: Used during elections.
This year (2022/2023), in total, we have held ten social evenings, two Quiz nights, a Race night, Curry and Bingo night, Gameshow Beef Stew and Bullseye, the Village Coronation celebrations, a May Day Reunion, two children’s parties, charity skittles night, Open Gardens BBQ, and The Village Show. We have also been hired out by the church for Open Gardens and Harvest Supper; The Village Artisan; two private parties, a coffee evening, and a funeral.
In addition to all these events, we have been used regularly for Parish Council meetings and other group meetings. We have hosted skittles matches, once or twice a week and various skittles tournaments for the league. We are very grateful to the community for their support and help at our events and we know from feedback that they have been appreciated and enjoyed by all who have attended.
