04 July 2021Parish Council objects to 'commercial use' of domestic property
At a special meeting of the Council on 1st July, the Council considered an application for the storage of a refrigeration unit on the drive of a house in Crabtree Lane. The Council agreed with local residents who had complained to West Northants Council that the proposed use was not in keeping with the local setting and represented a nuisance to neighbours and others.
Minutes of the meeting can be found in the library on this site.
26 June 2021Planning Application merits extra PC meeting
The Parish Council has been asked to comment on planning application WND/2021/0055 (see the WNC website) for the storage of business vehicles at a property in Crabtree Lane.
There has been considerable interest in this application, which has been anticipated for some time, and the council is taking the unusual step (though for the second time in two months) of holding a special meeting to consider its response.
As always, village residents are welcome to attend and to have their say. Individual residents can also respond directly to the Council (email firstname.lastname@example.org) to support or oppose the application.
The agenda can be found in the library on this site.
18 June 2021Successful Parish Assembly
18 people attended an informative annual village assembly meeting which covered planning, traffic, environmental and funding issues and lots more, including the future of the village hall and the bus service. The meeting took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere and the short minutes can be found on the library page of this website.
18 June 2021Parish Council opposes Main Street/Stanford Road proposals
In a lively additional Council Meeting before the annual assembly, the Parish Council heard objections to the latest housing proposals on Main Street/Stanford Close. The objections came from the residents of 3 properties in the village and a summary can be read in the minutes in the Library on this website. (2021-June-extra-minutes)
The council will endorse these objections in its response to the Daventry office of the new planning authority: West Northants Council.

22 May 2021Annual Parish Assembly 16TH JUNE - SPORTS PAVILION (7.45 approx)
Villages like Cold Ashby are required to hold an annual assembly to allow village matters to be aired by local residents. The meeting is organised and supported by the Parish Council, but it is not a PC meeting and residents can add their own items to the agenda by contacting the clerk on 07966086735.
This year the meeting will be held in the Sports Pavilion, in a Covid safe environment (outside if possible!), at 7.45 on the 16th June. Everybody is welcome. There will be an AGM of the village hall at the same venue at 7 p.m. Everybody is welcome to that meeting, too. At 7.30, the PC will discuss its view of the planning application on MainStreet/Stanford Road (see news item).
The agenda for the assembly will include: Open Gardens, the new Golf Centre, the new VAS unit, the pub, litter and the environment (including traffic!) and other items suggested by you. Get in touch and let us know what you want to talk about. THIS IS YOUR MEETING.
06 May 2021Two new councillors on the Parish Council
In February the council welcomed Alex Taylor to its ranks and this month (May) Steve Roper joined the council. Both new councillors bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the council and we wish them every success in their new role.
