COMMUNITY SUPPORT: CORONAVIRUS FUND

THE PARISH COUNCIL has given some thought to the best way it can help in this rapidly evolving situation and have agreed the following motions. The focus is to offer emergency funding to deal with emerging issues in the community as a result of the continuing threat of coronavirus, to directly support work in the community, and to help residents and organisations survive over this period of closures and isolation.

MOTION 1 PASSED - RESOLVED: THAT the money the Parish Council set aside to donate to good causes as grants or donations, i.e. the underspend for the financial year 2019/2020 [£2,638] and the sum assigned from general reserves for 2020/2021 [£3,500], shall be combined to form a dedicated £6,138 Coronavirus Fund to support community groups and organisations through this period of uncertainty.

MOTION 2 PASSED - RESOLVED: THAT £2,638 underspent in the financial year 2019/2020 shall be utilised to subsidise the provision by Lynemouth Day Centre of hot meals at home in the sum of £2.00 each meal to directly benefit individuals, who must reside within the Parish of Lynemouth*.

MOTION 3 PASSED - RESOLVED: THAT the sum of £1,500 shall be donated to Wansbeck Valley Foodbank from the sum of money set aside for the current financial year 2020/2021 [£3,500] to directly benefit individuals, who must reside within the Parish of Lynemouth*.

*Residence for these purposes requires bodily presence as an inhabitant in Lynemouth as a fixed and permanent home.
