The Parish Council has been made aware of recent serious increase in Covid infections in Falmouth and Penryn. The average rate of infections for Cornwall as a whole in the week ending 26th June was 60 confirmed cases per 100,000 population, whereas the figure for Falmouth and Penryn was 389 confirmed cases per 100,000 population, which is over 6 times higher than the Cornwall average. 50% of those infections are in people aged 16 to 29, especially those who have not yet been vaccinated, and most of the infections are of the highly transmissible Delta variant.
Public Health are doing all they can to control and reduce infections. In the mean time, in order to help preventing the spread of the virus, you may wish, if possible, to avoid Falmouth and Penryn for the time being
