Christmas Lights

What a tangled web we weave
When first we try to light the eave
A jumbled mess of bulbs and wire
Almost enough to uninspire!
But soon enough the job is done
We've even found the burned out one!
We've trimmed the tree and lit the hedge
And even strung the rooftop edge

And the dancing lights, both bright and clear
Mean Christmas-time is finally here!

The Christmas Lights switch-on was enjoyed by all on Friday 25th November.

We would like to thank the following people for helping to make it such a 'glowing' success:

"CSN Services for managing our Festive Lights displays"

"Mr and Mrs Warburton for serving our refreshments"

"Prudhoe's Disco-man Mr John Robson and Mr John Short for providing music and entertainment"

"The Cooperative Foodstore for providing us with mulled wine and mince pies"

"Prudhoe Youth Service for their support during and after the event"

"The Mid-Tyne Lions and Santa Claus himself for taking time out of his busy schedule to see the children of Prudhoe"

"Mr Paul Mooney of BBC Weather for leading us in our countdown to switch-on"

"Rev. Charles Hope and the Mary Magdalene Church Choir for bringing us the spirit of Christmas"

"Creative Management Services Ltd for the delicious shortbread and flapjacks"

And finally thank you to everyone who came on the night and to Mrs Moira Wooldridge for taking the fabulous photos shown below.

Prudhoe Town Council wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas
and a properous New Year!!!
