Councillor Mary Briggs, Chair
I moved to Stanton-under-Bardon in 2000 from Coalville having spent by young years in Groby and attending King Edward VII school. I have been married to Ian for 45 years. I was co-opted to the Parish Council in 2010 having been persuaded to apply because I was complaining of rubbish on the Recreation Ground – I am a believer in the “put up or shut up” philosophy. I am retired from work, having been a PA at North West Leicestershire District Council, Cott Beverages and David Wilson Homes. I have been a Trustee to the Village Hall Trust and arrange the Cinema Nights at the Hall.
Councillor Alan Ramsay - Vice Chair
Having moved to the village in November 2015, I was delighted to join the Parish Council in the latter half of 2020. As a company director in the not-for-profit sector and having some experience in working alongside UK and European Government quango's , I hope that the Parish might make some use of some of my experiences and transferable skills, to which I am happy to offer my time and enthusiasm.
I look forward to serving the community, and when were able, to seeing you all at our monthly meetings!
