16 January 2020Roads and Drains
Just to let you know. Dorset Council have now repaired:
😀The broken Man Hole surround at Marrs Cross.
😀From Marrs Cross Down through to Dorchester High Street, the Pot holes that were dry have been filled. Those under water will be done when the road is dry.
😀The pot hole outside the side gate of Chapel House at the entrance to the rear of Waterside Lane & Play Park has been filled by our Community Highways Officer. Dorset Council’s Highway Extent does not cover this piece of Highway, Corrine Holbrook, took this repair on personally as the pot hole was right outside Catherine’s side Gate.
😀The black & White bollards that have been knocked over, outside the old Black Smith in the High Street & Down Dorchester Road have been reported.
😀Dorset Council & Wessex Water are meeting in Sydling today to inspect the damage to the road side edges from Marrs Cross through the High Street & Dorchester Road to Grimstone, with a view to reinstating the damaged verges. This work is estimated to be carried out in the early spring or sooner depending on the weather. We are waiting further updates.
😀Though we have not been given a date yet, Wessex Water have said that they will during the summer months, survey the sewer drainage down the high street, in particular the pipes from properties which connect up to the main sewer. This will hopefully hi-light any leaks or damaged pipes. If damage is found obviously repairs will be made.
