Do We Need a Neighbourhood Plan?
CRAG (Caring for Rothbury Action Group), formed to fight inappropriate developments around Rothbury, recently handed in a 327-name petition to MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan. She told them that she would present this in the House of Commons.
She also told them that measures are already in place in communities to prevent such development via Neighbourhood Plans. The benefit of these is that they put legal weight behind a community's plan for the protection of the nature and character of their village as regards any development.
Hepple Parish Council feels that a Neighbourhood Plan may be appropriate for our community. If you have any comments about this please contact a member of the Parish Council.
