Anne-Marie Trevelyan has been contacted over the proposed closure of the wartds at Rothbury Community Hospital and has assured us that she is doing everything she can to investigate the situation within the NHS Trust and the figures from the CCG which concludes that the beds should go.
These two bodies take these sort of decisions based entirely on the financial impact of such services. They say that if the wards have only 50% occupancy on average there is an issue with the cost of staffing. Hospital beds and services are being cut across Britain.
