Byrness Village Hall
In October 2023 our refurbished village hall reopened. Following a huge fundraising effort and much delayed by covid lock-down and movement restrictions, alterations were finally completed.
Byrness Hall is an Armstrong Building given to Byrness by the Forestry Commission in the 1950’s. It was desperately in need of an update.
We now have a well insulated, smart and warm communal space with ground source heating replacing the old overhead radiant heaters. Space re-jigged to provide better toilet facilities including disabled and baby changing area. New kitchen complete with new appliances. A complete new roof was erected, so thanks to our main funders and local donations the refurbishment was finally finished. Fundraising continues to enable the installation of solar panels to our new roof and also battery pack so in the event of a major power outage the village hall will be of assistance to the village and wider parish community.
