Every smaller authority in England with an annual turnover of £6.5 million or less must complete an annual return at the end of each financial year in accordance with proper practices summarising its activities.  Below are copies of documents for your viewing that relate to the Annual Return and electors rights for year ended 31st March 2017. 20 September 2017Your Council Needs You!


One of our councillors is leaving the village after many years as a hard working member of Sandhutton Village Parish Council.  This will leave only 3 members, the minimum required for the council to function.

We require another resident of the village, preferably two, to join the council if the village is to have a functioning parish councll, as it requires only one of the remaining members to be unavailable and the council will be unable to undertake its duties.  Should that be the case then the options will include merging with a neighbouring council such as Carlton Miniott or Breckenbrough.

The role is non-renumerated and will require the person to attend six meetings a year, usually held on the third Thursday of the month, at 19:30.  The Parish Coiuncil has no executive powers and therefore has an advisory role in the issues that come to it.  One the main function is to make observations on planning applications to do with the village, although it also works with the Village Hall and Church Comittees on events held in the village, including making grants as appropriate.  Informal enquiries are welcome to Harry Cronin, Chairman or to  Sue Fraser, Clerk.  Contact details below:
