The Parish Council and Meeting

The Parish Council

Whessoe Parish Council came into existence in 1946.

The population of the Parish is 1,254 and 593 households.

The Parish Council consists of 7 Councillors who each serve a four year term of office.

There are two wards in the Parish and the number of Parish Councillors representing the two wards are as follows:

Harrowgate Hill Ward    -   4 Councillors.

Whessoe Ward              -   3 Councillors.

Parish Council Meetings

Parish Council meetings are open to the public.  The Council does have the power to exclude the public from part of a meeting if it judges that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest because of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted, but this rarely happens. You are welcome to attend Whessoe Parish Council meetings.

Members of the public have no rights to speak at Parish Council meetings unless the Council authorises this, but if you've got a constructive point to make about what's going on in Whessoe then the Council will invariably give you an opportunity to make that point.

Agendas and minutes of the Parish Council meetings are available on this web site.

Parish Council meetings for 2014/15 are as follows:

Monday 28th July, 2014.

Monday 29th September, 2014

Monday 24th November, 2014.  Budget and Precept Setting Meeting.
