As of 1 September, 2012, anyone who receives a concessionary bus pass is entitled to a 20% reduction on the cost per mile. You are invoiced once a month meaning you do not need to pay for each individual journey.

What vehicles are used?

Volunteer drivers' use their own cars and all are fully trained, CRB checked and insured. The drivers will help people you in and out of the vehicle, assist you to your destination and wait with you for company and support.

Drivers can also arrange to do your shopping for you, if you are unable to do it. You will only need to pay for the cost of the journey, and the shopping!

Could you be a driver for the scheme?

Do you have a valid driving licence, some spare time and feel you could offer your services as a volunteer driver?

Opportunities are available for people who have their own car and would like to help with the voluntary car scheme.

All posts are flexible and can be fitted around your availability.  All volunteers receive full training and support. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
