The committee held a meeting at the end of March to discuss the future of Clapham Good Neighbour Group. Unfortunately we came to the decision that we are unable to continue and will have to close the CGNG. Sadly we were unable to recruit and retain enough volunteers to carry on as we all have busy lives with limited spare time. We have helped some lovely clients over the last two and a half years and made great friendships along the way which we are sure will be long lasting.
May we take this opportunity to thank everybody who has supported us during this period including Justine Hunt (BRCC), Jim Playle (BPHA), Clapham Golf Club, Councillors Jane Walker and Nigel Sparrow and Clapham Concert Party, all the businesses who kindly displayed our posters and, of course, all our past and present volunteers and committee members. We couldn't have done it without you and we are disappointed that it has come to this end.
We have an amount in our funds which we had always intended to use, and will still use, to buy a bench for the new Burial Ground in Clapham. This will also now carry a plaque in memory of Eric Norman, one of the original committee members who sadly passed away suddenly last year.
