The A6 is shortly due to be closed for resurfacing and other carriageway work. The Legal Order will be made to cover a four month period; however, it is anticipated that northbound closures will be in operation between 2000hrs Friday 22nd November 2013 and 2300hrs Sunday 24th November 2013, and that southbound closures will be in operation between 2000hrs Friday 29th November 2013 to 2300hrs Sunday 1st December 2013 – Specific dates will be advertised locally closer to the time.
Please Note: The road will only be closed in one direction at a time.
Lengths Affected – Northbound Closures: From the Cut Throat Lane/Clapham Road roundabout to the northbound on slip leading from Highfield Road, Oakley.
The northbound off slip that leads to Highfield Road, Oakley will also be closed.
The northbound off and on slips that lead to and from Oakley Road, Clapham will also be closed.

Alternative Route – Northbound Closures: From the Cut Throat Lane/Clapham Road roundabout, proceed in a northerly direction along Clapham Road towards Clapham. Continue onto Bedford Road, Clapham, then onto High Street and then onto Milton Road to the roundabout adjoining Highfield Road, Oakley. Take the 1st exit onto Highfield Road, cross the A6 to the roundabout on the other side, then take the 1st exit onto the northbound on slip and rejoin the A6.
Alternative Route – Southbound Closures: Proceed in a southerly direction along Bedford Road, Oakley to the roundabout adjoining Highfield Road, Oakley/Milton Road, Clapham. Take the 1st exit onto Milton Road, Clapham and then follow the reverse of the above northbound alternative route through Clapham to rejoin the A6 at the Cut Throat Lane/Clapham Road roundabout.
