ELECTION OF A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT

For the
NORTH EAST BEDFORDHIRE CONSTITUENCY

1. An election is to be held of A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT for the
NORTH EAST BEDFORDSHIRE CONSTITUENCY
2. Nomination Papers may be obtained from the Acting Returning Officer, Room 329, Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP who will, at the request of any elector for the said Ward, prepare for signature a Nomination Paper.
3. Completed Nomination Papers and the prescribed deposit of £500.00 must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer, Room 329, Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP, from the day following the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm, but not later than 4.00pm on Thursday, 9 April 2015. The deposit may be made by legal tender, bankers draft or by electronic funds transfer by way of a debit card/PIN (personal identification number).
4. If an election is contested, the poll will take place on the Thursday, 7 May 2015 between the hours of 7.00am and 10.00pm.
5. New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP by 5.00pm on Tuesday, 21 April 2015, if they are to be effective for this election.
6. New applications to vote by proxy except on the grounds of work reasons or medical emergency must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP by 5.00pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2015, if they are to be effective for this election

NOTICE OF REFERENDUM ON THE COUNCIL TAX INCREASE FOR BEDFORDSHIRE’S POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSIONER FOR THE BOROUGH OF BEDFORD

1. A referendum is be held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 to decide the question below:
“Part of the council tax in your area goes to the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
For the financial year beginning on 1st April 2015 the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner has set an increase of fifteen point eight percent (15.8%) in the amount it charges.
If most voters choose ‘yes’, the increase will be 15.8%.
If most voters choose ‘no’, the increase will be 2.0% instead.
Do you want the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner to increase the amount it charges by 15.8%?”
2. The poll will take place between the hours of 7.00am and 10.00pm.
3. New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP by 5.00pm on Tuesday, 21 April 2015, if they are to be effective for this referendum.
