Proposed Temporary Road Closures – Culs-de-Sac & Minor Roads, Bedford Borough
Bedford Borough Council intend to make a Legal Order authorising road closures on culs-de-sac and minor roads within the Borough to facilitate celebrations as part of the 2015 ‘Big Lunch’ event.
Street Party/Small Event organisers will be required to complete a simple application form and submit it to the Council’s ‘Street Works’ team to apply for a road closure, and ‘Street Works’ will have the final say on any proposed closure. Please contact myself in the first instance should you, or anyone you know, wish to apply for a road closure in order to celebrate as part of this event.
As per previous years, updates on proposed, approved and refused road closures will be emailed out to stakeholders. The final day that ‘Big Lunch’ road closure applications will be accepted will be Friday 29th May 2015. This is to ensure we have a definitive list of closures a week prior to the event so that the emergency services & waste services etc. can plan accordingly.
The Legal Order will be in operation for one day only, on Sunday 7th June 2015.

Date: The Legal Order will be in operation for one day only, on Sunday 7th June 2015.
N.B. Closure applicants will be responsible for taking down all Bedford Borough Council public notices when their event has finished and the road is re-opened.
