Services

Buses: The local services are run by Connexions Buses which are operated by Harrogate Coach Travel. On 23 January 2015, their website reports that "we have taken over the Services 56 and 57 to a revised timetable. We are aware that this is to a reduced service - if you have any problems with this, can you please speak to North Yorkshire County Council".

Refuse and Recycling Collections are made alternate Friday mornings. Recycling: Brown bins for garden waste, black boxes for cans, glass bottles and plastic bottles, blue bags for paper and cardboard. Refuse: Black bins for all other waste.

Post Box: On the green by the cross roads. Collections 4.00pm Monday-Friday, 10.45am Saturday.

Telephone Box: On the Harrogate Road close to the pond.

Internet: The following information was received on 21st October 2014 from Patrick Robertson - the Community Project Executive at Superfast North Yorkshire:

"Superfast Broadband arrives in Ferrensby. You can now order superfast broadband. You may be able to access very close to the full 80Mbps! Please note – nothing happens automatically. People connected to the enabled cabinet need to contact their service provider and upgrade to a fibre service." See the "News" page for the latest information.

Existing non-superfast internet speeds via the Copgrove telephone exchange do vary from the nominal 2Mbps quoted for this exchange. Speeds between 4Mbps and 6 Mbps have been recorded.

Shops: There are no shops in the village or nearby villages. The nearest shops are in Boroughbridge and Knaresborough.

Village Hall: Though there is no hall in Ferrensby itself, Arkendale Community Hall is intended to serve the villages of Arkendale, Ferrensby and Coneythorpe.
