Retired opera singers and lifelong friends Reggie (Tom Courtenay), Cissy (Pauline Collins) and Wilf (Billy Connolly) live in a retirement home populated by folks with singing careers behind them. The annual concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday is disrupted by the arrival of Jean, an eternal diva and the former wife of one of the residents.
