Dear locals,

We are wondering if there is anything you could do to help us. I am Natalie, 21, of 7 harrogate Road. I am recently married and have lived in the village for over 16 years, prior to this Arkendale. I am desperate to stay in the area I have lived in my whole life, but can only afford a mortgage of 140,000. We have been on the council housing list for over a year, but are ineligible for any of the local properties that come available due to not having children. We are waiting for the right time to have children, when we are financially stable and have a nice home. It seems unfair to us that we cannot stay in the area we so desire, it would break my heart to leave but we are not ready to have children yet, especially whilst we are still living with my parents! We feel it gives the wrong impression, a house came up recently for sale in Farnham, and we're told we could have had it if I were pregnant. We feel this is setting the wrong example.

Please could you let me know of any opportunities such as part ownership (we would put our full mortgage amount forward for a share) or anything affordable in the areas, I would really appreciate it.
