Parish Meetings

Although Stow Bedon & Breckles has a Parish Council it is still legally required to hold an Annual Parish Meeting (which usually takes place during May). The COVID-19 pandemic has led the Government to suspend the requirement for this meeting during 2020.

This is a meeting of the parish rather than of the Council, although the Council Chairman must preside if he/she is present.

A Parish Meeting can discuss and pass resolutions on any issue of parochial interest, although it should be said that such a resolution is not legally binding.

Our Annual Parish Meeting is used for various bodies to give a report on the past year. These normally include both parish churches, the Trustees of the parochial charities, and, of course, the Parish Council itself.

To read the minutes of a Parish Meeting simply click on the relevant date below (you will need Adobe Acrobat or similar to open the pdf file), and this will open a new window. Minutes of a meeting will not be available until they are approved and signed at the next meeting, which may not be until the following year.
