The return of the 60 Bus service (sort of!)

by Unknown - 15:24 on 14 August 2014

From 6th September 2014 there will be a Saturday service at 10.02 am from the Black Horse to Northampton and arrives at 10.42. The return leaves from bay 3 in North Gate Bus station at 12.45.  So if you're going for lunch, it had better be fast food.

On Monday to Saturday there is a bus from the Red Lion in Thornby at 08.15 arriving at 08.50 with a return at 17.45 (arrive 18.02). This service returns 20 mins earlier on Saturdays.

This is a small reward for a lot of pressure on the service providers and the County Council. No doubt this limited service will be withdrawn again if no-one uses it.

You can find the TT in the vilage notice board.

We the Bus-users welcome the reintroduction of the one in/one out skeleton service and it probably won't be used because as no one took the trouble to confer they won't realise a weekday would have been preferable. However, thanks to all who tried to get a decent service. We will keep trying.

This morning, six loyal, potential passengers eagerly awaited the arrival of our first timetabled bus for about three years.
My camera was at the ready.
Our expectations were high.
We waited for a long, long time ...
No bus and no explanation from Centrebus.
This, Cold Ashby, is not good enough for our community.
