The Friends of the Ford
We are pleased to announce that the Parish Council was succesful in the bid of £1400 for funding from the Councillors Grant Scheme. In the New Year the Ford Group will meet to plan the the work involved. The approach to the bridge will be levelled to allow easier mowing, trees and hedges will be cut back to a more manageable height, allowing our volunteers to see faster results for their efforts. Access from the footpath on the far side of the bridge will be improved and a litter bin will be installed.
We shall also involve the local primary school who wish raise awareness of the environment generally, and incorporate the site into their existing study areas.
