School Parking - the latest

Following strong representations that the school and the parish council made to Warwickshire County Council, the working group that considers capital spending has looked again at the scheme that was originally turned down on the 6th May.  At their meeting on Wednesday 1st July, the project officer presented all of the important details that are relevant to the scheme, including the impact on local residents, the increasing risk to children’s safety, and the need to provide the infrastructure for a school that has been told to increase its pupil numbers.  County Councillor Clive Rickhards also made a written representation on the Parish Council's behalf.  Cllr. Rickhards has also confirmed that senior managers representing the Capital Allocation Board will visit the site before the Board make their final decision on 17th July.

I still remain optimistic.  We have the full support of Cllrs. Rickhards and Gittus who know that we have approached this problem by full consultation with all parties, whose aim is to protect the school, the safety of its pupils, and to protect the environment for every one of its residents.

Latest - Following concerns over delays to a promised response, Officers at Warwickshire have promised an update to the project by the 15th January 2016.
