A flagpole for Michaelstow

by Simon Mitchell - 11:11 on 13 June 2022

The new flagpole on Michaelstow church green, erected by Parish Councillors Pete Jago and Richard Whitby, was commissioned at 1900 on 1 June when Mr Andrew Button was invited to hoist the flag in the presence of a small gathering. After 50 years without a flagpole, a new one has been provided for Michaelstow Parish with the help of Mr. Button and members of the parish council. Funding for the purchase of the flagpole was provided by Mr. D. Pluess of Woodland Farm. Below, Mr A Button of Tregawn Farm hoists the Union Flag for the first time.
