Octopus Turbine
Members of the Parish Council's Turbine Sub-Committee, briefed the council on developments in relation to the appeal against the Planner's decision to approve Octopus application 24/06612. They explained that although the most serious affects of the increase in scale of the proposed turbine would be felt by parishioners living closest to it; they also warned that if approval held after appeal, it would set a precedent allowing unrestricted access for more turbines of that size to be sited within the same Area of Great Landscape Value in our parish.
In that case, over the next 30 years, people would be astonished that no appeal to that prospect had been raised by this council. The council agreed that their sub-committee should continue the process of appeal, but without committing the council to any expense.
