2012 Remembrance Day Parade and Service - Sunday 11th November 2012

The Town Council support the Royal British Legion in their belief that it is important that the above day be marked publicly in the life of our community, as it is nationally and internationally, as a day of commemoration and commitment.  Also that it is right to honour all those who have given their lives and those who continue to do so in the service of their country, and to offer some continuing strength and comfort to the bereaved families.

As in previous years the Prudhoe Branch of the Royal British Legion will be organising the Parade on Remembrance Sunday and you would be most welcome.

Last year there were impressive crowds on Remembrance Sunday, demonstrating the community spirit and support of the Royal British Legion; it would be wonderful to continue that in 2012.

There will be a practice for Standard Bearers/Escorts that will take place in St. Mary Magdalene Church on Wednesday 7th November at 7:00pm should you wish to attend.  All organisations and individuals are welcome to parade.  Wooden poppy crosses will be available in St. Mary Magdalene between 10am-4pm from 29th October to 11th November and can be placed beside the Royal British Legion Memorial plaque on The Glade and/or at the pathway leading to St. Mary Magdalene Church.

All donations will go to the 2012 Poppy Appeal.

If you have any further questions about this years Remembrance Service, please contact the Town Council.

We especially hope you see you at this year’s Remembrance Service.
