42 Days of Summer - Prudhoe Town Council funded activities

In early June, Prudhoe Town Council launched the application process for '42 Days of Summer' and offered organisations working with young people the opportunity to apply for funding so they could offer FREE sessions and include a meal.

As expected, we were inundated and although we did not manage to seek match funding to allow us to provide more activities than last year, the Town Council has spent more than they money allocated, taking a further £2,135 from the contingency budget to give us a total summer funding budget of £15,385.

Our goal was that the young people of Prudhoe be given a range of activities, trips and events throughout the summer holidays, provided free of charge (funded by the Town Council), including lunch or tea, that would be age appropriate, engaging, fun and fully inclusive.

The Town Council wished to add to that which is already being provided with opportunities that would otherwise not be available.

Applications were reviewed by a small group of councillors and recommendations for funding were presented and agreed by the full council on 26th June.

The following activities and trips have been funded and will be advertised via each organisation.  This is only the 2nd year the Town Council has operated this scheme and we are learning lessons along the way.  Please contact us with any comments or concerns, and please ensure you complete the feedback sheet given to the providers if you take part.

Prudhoe Town Council would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer.
