Cold Ashby has been awarded more than £4,000 from an official police road safety fund to update and improve the vehicle warning signs along West Haddon Road. The existing PC-owned sign is very high maintenance and lacks some important features. It will still be used around the village whilst the new solar powered unit monitors and warns speeding motorists and commercial drivers along the West Haddon Road stretch. The award is a recognition of the fact that traffic through the whole of the village travels far too fast.
The award is also a recognition of the hard work and persistence of Councillor Alan Peel, who has campaigned tirelessly for the new unit.
