THE PARISH COUNCIL has agreed in principle the proposal put forward by a working group of nominated parish councillors to renovate the land formerly occupied by the scout hut into a low maintenance centennial nature garden. The basic proposed specifications were agreed but it was resolved that the working group shall revisit the site with delegated authority to revise and finalise the specifications taking into account amendments suggested by members, and to instruct the Parish Clerk to seek quotations in accordance with the Parish Council's procurement policy. An official order for work will only be issued following an evaluation of tenders and resolution of the parish council. It was agreed to make a further approach to ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) to reconfirm that this project can be funded from the money SPR pays into the wind turbine fund managed by the Parish Council and distributed for local projects and regeneration (community benefits).
