Parish Councils are a statutory part of the local government framework in England. Along with County Councils (Northamptonshire) and District Councils (Daventry) they exist to provide a range of services, promote the well-being of residents and foster and enrich local communities and economies. Their powers and duties are complementary and should not be seen as heirarchical.
